Boarding
The people at Firefly Farm are our best asset. Our boarders are
friendly, competent, helpful, supportive of each other, and eager to
increase their knowledge and abilities. Turnover is slow because
we have a loyal and dedicated group, but new clients are always welcomed
with interest and encouragement. Additionally, our stable help is
the best anywhere: reliable, conscientious, exhibiting excellent horse
handling skills, professional, and accommodating.
|
Our facility itself is kept exceptionally clean and organized.
The barn and indoor arena at Firefly were built in 1998, but through
rigorous maintenance everything seems new and fresh. We continue
to add improvements yearly.

The stabling facilities include 33 large rubber-matted stalls; 2 wash
stalls - 1 with heat lamps; client tack room with separate storage for
each individual boarder; feed room; rest room; lounge and viewing area;
and office. The stable is heated throughout with in-floor radiant
heat. We also have fresh-air returns for excellent ventilation
year-round.

The attached indoor arena is 72' x 165' and has rubber footing mixed
with sand; it is heated, well-lit, and surprisingly cool in the summer.
Firefly also has 2 outdoor sand arenas; a regulation-sized dressage
arena and a 100' x 200' jumping arena. Within 1/2 mile of Firefly
is the Luce Line Trail which stretches for 63 miles, from the western
suburb of Plymouth to the small town of Cosmos.

We provide the horses with the highest quality hay we can find, along
with the appropriate grain for each individual horse. Feedings are
separated into four meals per day, and special needs are happily
accommodated. Turnout is daily - weather permitting - to one of 12
large paddocks (80' x 90') or 4 grass pastures.
